National operator with HFC plant
Upgrade without rebuilding
Deployed plant that must carry more capacity without being rebuilt. 1.8 GHz passives, 4G/5G ingress protection and a DOCSIS 3.1 and 4.0 path that can be walked in stages.
BLINCOM LTDA · TAX ID 900.238.428-6 · BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA
We supply and integrate infrastructure for telecom operators, ISPs and enterprises in Colombia: HFC and fiber optic access, critical power, site cooling and technology services.
18 years in the Colombian market · Customs clearance: 8 days from arrival at port
Clients
Telecom operators, energy and utility companies, and industry in Colombia.
Why the portfolio is this broad. The availability criterion is the same in an access network, a substation and a plant: firm power, a climate-controlled site and properly sized backup. That is why the portfolio covers network, power, cooling and service — not just one of those layers.
Who we serve
Colombia does not have one kind of network. What an operator with legacy HFC plant needs looks nothing like what an ISP rolling out fiber this year needs.

Grow without hitting a ceiling
Every new node means OLT, passive plant, power and cooling at once. GPON today with a route to XGS-PON, from a supplier who ships all four on one order.
Transport and synchronize
Distributed sites, PON-DWDM, microwave and synchronization, where site availability weighs as much as active equipment.
Keep the critical running
Technical rooms, power backup, cooling and support. The network is not the business, but if it goes down the business goes with it.

Power · storage
There is no single right answer: target autonomy, available space and discharge profile define the right chemistry.

|---|---|---|---|
| Where it fits | Cabinet, node and customer equipment | Central offices and high-autonomy sites | Sites with space constraints |
| Space and weight | Modular format | Bulky bank | Higher density, lower weight |
| Maintenance | Sealed, maintenance-free | Individual cell replacement | BMS monitoring |
| Upfront cost | Lower | Higher | Higher |
| Discharge | Conventional | Long life under slow discharge | Deeper discharge and faster charge |
Selection criteria. Sizing by target autonomy, site temperature and expected discharge cycle. Specific figures —capacity, cycles and discharge curves— are provided in the datasheet for each reference.

Power · equipment
Backup, conversion and generation for broadband, HFC, telecom and customer equipment, at the site where it is needed most.

Outdoor standby for cable and broadband. Node power with protection and fuses.

Regulated non-standby units for outside plant.
Request datasheetBuilt to keep the network running through outages, maintenance and power contingencies.
Cooling and site infrastructure
Most availability failures do not happen in the active equipment, but in site conditions: temperature, dirty power and inadequate housing.
BLINCOM covers that layer with the same counterpart who supplies the network.

Temperature and humidity control within the operating range of the active equipment, which is where its real service life is decided, not in the datasheet.

Outdoor and indoor housing, with protection ratings matched to the environment, room for the battery bank and the ventilation that bank demands.

Use cases
Frequent situations in the industry, and how they are solved. The indicator for each case is set by the project.
Telco networks
The problem
Areas where service does not reach or no longer meets the committed quality, and where expanding the plant would require civil works with no permit and no window.
How it is solved
Replace only the electronics inside the housing already installed: plug-in diplex filters and faceplate upgrades. No excavation, no cabinet change.
Minutes per point · homes per node, before and after
The problem
Cabinet space exhausted against the pressure to scale, and low OLT port utilization at the start of the rollout.
How it is solved
High-density splitters, cascading to reduce fiber count in the ODN, reuse of the existing cabinet and connectorized instead of fusion splicing.
Weeks to service · homes passed per day
The problem
Sealed batteries in vaults generating gases and corrosion, on a fleet exposed to theft: Colombian industry reported 4 to 6 cable or battery thefts per day in 2022.
How it is solved
Size by real discharges per year and site temperature. BLINCOM supplies both lead and lithium, so it sizes instead of pushing one chemistry.
Discharges per year per site · hours out of service due to power
Backup power
The problem
A grid outage that exceeds what the bank can hold, at sites where bringing a fuel generator is not viable due to noise, emissions, permits or access.
How it is solved
A portable lithium generator that connects to the installed bank and extends autonomy. No fuel, no emissions, no noise; several units in parallel for long outages.
Hours of autonomy gained · sites covered per unit
The problem
Batteries in an underground vault releasing gases that force extraction, with corrosion degrading the signal and adding risk in a confined space.
How it is solved
Replace the string with a heated lithium module: fewer units, less cabling and a smaller footprint inside the vault.
Units per site, before and after · maintenance visits
The problem
A high-autonomy site where replacing the whole bank means an unavailability window and a budget that is not there.
How it is solved
A stationary bank of 2 V cells with individual replacement and per-unit monitoring: the failing cell is replaced, not the whole bank.
Cells replaced versus a full bank
Market context · Colombia
As of December 2025 the country registers 10.32 million fixed internet accesses: 55.19 % on fiber and 37.39 % on cable, with fiber growing 28.9 % in a year. Cable remains more than a third of the installed base in operation.

The clean option, in purchasing terms. Portable lithium backup replaces the fuel generator: nothing to buy, transport or store, no CO or CO₂ emissions, no noise and no mechanical maintenance. Recharges from the grid or from solar.
